Do I go to far?
Sunday, February 15

I've decided to post this personal series in hopes of getting some perspective on images that are very close to my heart and a style of post-production that has been integral to my practice. I am trying to find an aesthetic that has a look I can be happy with, but doesn't detract from the honesty of my content. So I put it put to my friends and peers, am I walking that fine line or am I still going too far? I have included the third piece in this, raw, straight from the scanner, by way of comparison.
I look forward to reading your feedback.

I definitely think the level of post production depends on your style. Within a photographer's works might be different styles of post-production aswell. More art-based photographs might feature more, while portraits that show honesty, less. In the latter I believe a good guide for me personally has been: a great post production should be invisible to the viewer - Unless intentional, of course. I am not sure if these words help you in your meandering, but I think its great that you've taken a step back and evaluated your work from a different angle, under a different light. Good luck.
